The 2005 NibCrom Central Awards - DVDs
April 3, 2006
Honorable mentions this year include The Best of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Seinfeld Seasons 5 and 6 and The Jerk.

Batman: The Animated Series: Volume 3
Among the cartoons I watched during my younger years, Batman stands out as one of the few that is still just as enjoyable as it was during it's original run. Unlike a series such as Thundercats, which is very difficult to watch as an adult, Batman is easy to take seriously. Each frame of animation is so carefully crafted that they could be put straight into any graphic novel starring the dark knight.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 + 2
Tartakovsky was able to bring Lucas' saga to life in a way previously unseen, and each episode was as exciting as the films. Bridging the gap between the two final installments in the prequel trilogy, Star Wars Clone Wars follows Anakin Skywalker's journey to knighthood, and packs plenty of action too. Of particular interest is the final episodes of Volume 2, which lead directly into Revenge of the Sith.

DVD of the Year: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Picking the runner-ups and the second and third place winners was difficult this year, but the first place winner were clear-cut. Such is the case with the DVD category. Revenge of the Sith is the movie many Star Wars fans were waiting for. Arguably the most important part of Revenge of the Sith was bringing the prequel and original trilogies together into one complete series.
