The Great Freeze, Part 15
November 19, 2007

Thus, The Great Freeze saga comes to a close.
I hope you enjoyed The Great Freeze story line. It's by far the longest multiple part comic I've done so far. I'm not trying to make Nibcrom Lives! a drama or anything, but I did want to flesh out the story and I think it's interesting to see the characters develop more. Now obviously the 15 part comic leaves some questions unanswered (why did Nibcrom freeze up?) and poses some new problems for the characters (can Amber keep Nibcrom's secret?), but I plan on taking a little break from the strict storyline. New information and developments will come along the way, so be patient and eventually your questions will be answered.
In case you missed the newest Ask the Wire Ball I posted, there's a new Women's T-Shirt available in the store. Feel free to buy one for all of your female friends.

Ink For the Memories
August 6, 2007

There are times in our life that are too important to forget.
Ask the Wire Ball is going to be returning this week with a slightly new format. In order to get more updates and answer questions more quickly, the number of questions needed for an update is only going to be in the three to four range instead of ten. Which mean means the Wire Ball has enough questions for a few updates already.

All The Details On Blade Runner: The Final Cut
July 29, 2007
Here's the dirt on the upcoming release of Blade Runner on DVD. Charles de Lauzirika is participating in the development, the same man in charge of the Alien Quadrilogy nine disc DVD set. The Alien Quadrilogy is easily one of the most comprehensive DVD sets available, so this release of Blade Runner is in good hands.
If you're lucky enough to live in New York or Los Angeles (what, no love for the Midwest?) there's also going to be a theatrical launch. The five disc set is a whopping $80, but it is obviously the version to get.

Too Much Star Wars?
July 26, 2007
The San Diego Comic-Con started today, and we are getting a ton of awesome Star Wars toys. So many, in fact, that anyone that wants to get at least half of the action figures will be getting a second full-time job to pay for all of them. There is a fine line between boring Star Wars collectors with too little product and deluging them with more toys than they could possibly afford, and Hasbro is over saturating. With no more feature length films in sight, it almost seems like Hasbro is in panic mode to keep collectors interested. I appreciate their efforts, but scaling back the amount of product released at one time would really help me not feel so overwhelmed.
Hasbro has the license for Star Wars until 2018 which is more than enough time to release several versions of every character imaginable from every piece of Star Wars media. I'm impressed with the variety of merchandise, I just know I won't be able to afford all of it.
I remember seeing toy commercials when I was little and they all ended with the same tagline: "Collect Them All!" I took this to heart, and I wanted to buy each and every figure for the toy lines I was interested in. Of course, when your allowance is only 50 cents (not the rapper) a week, being able to afford all the toys you want is impossible. That's one of the great things about being an adult collector. You literally have the chance to buy every single one. But if Hasbro is releasing $400 worth of Star Wars toys every month, you're back to begging for your mom to buy you toys.

Hard-Hitting News
July 16, 2007

Animals have more problems than just overpopulation.
I know I have already recommended Live Free or Die Hard, but I just wanted to clear a couple of things up about the film if you haven't seen it yet. The PG-13 rating is not an issue with the movie. The level of action has not been diminished in the slightest, the filmmakers just took out some of the coarse language.
Don't expect a computer-generated stunt festival. I had someone express to me they were worried about about a particular shot from the trailer, when a car flips over and narrowly misses John McClane and his sidekick. The nature of the stunt obviously warranted some green or blue screen work, perhaps even pink screen. But it is not a scene representing the whole movie. The list of stuntmen in the credits is easily one hundred strong, perhaps even a fighting three hundred.
